I enjoyed EQ's PvP way more than I enjoy WoW's, I guess because of server rules rather than the combat itself but still.
Yea, I don't really see why people feel the need to bash AoC. Its graphics are a little dated but it has loads and loads of content, great siege battles, amazing community, and every character looks totally different which is great for RP.
I do think most WAR fans only compare when WoW kiddies show up saying WAR rips off WoW's lore and gameplay.
They told us early, it wasn't like we bought the game, installed and got a big SURPRISE banner in character creation saying oh we are sorry, we forgot to tell you some content got cut.
That is such a dumb thing to cry over in my opinion. It bugged me I couldn't play my hammerer for a few minutes, oh no! I didn't come here bitching about it.

After reading this thread, decided to give the game a try, havent played in like 3 years. Register for the trial, downloaded the client and ...... found out AC don't work with Vista. Check out the forum about the patching error i'm getting only to find out a dev saying they have NO plan on fixing the compatibility issues with Vista.
Too bad.
I just put together a new computer and put vista on it. Have you tried right clicking the exe and changing the compatibility from vista to XPSP2, then clicking on "run program as administrator"?
I have only had one game not work when doing this and that is the multi player function for COD4. but It has something to do with vista and my sound card which I have no idea how to fix. But I have a lot of mid-late 90s games on this PC and several 2003 games that are said not to work on vista but they run fine.
Downloading the trial to see if this works with it. May give it a run since I have nothing to play, already quit AoC and have been sitting on SB with a guild I do not like.
It is a sandbox MMO, do whatever you want, become a pirate, infiltrate a powerful guild and work for several months bringing the whole thing down, kill that guy, be a trader, be a victim, be a mercenary, make an army, take over areas of space, build something, do whatever.
Would you rather see a game release pushed back a year or have the game release witha few bugs that will be fixed?
