Sorry to disappoint you bud, but it is not 500k x $50. The game isn't the same price in every country for 1, second thats just for the basic copy, thats not even for the collectors edition ($79.99). Getting Faqs straight FTW.

Lets not forget that what the shops charge customers is the retail price. I have no idea how much Funcom charges retailers on a box by box basis, but if the shops carge us $50, you can be sure Fncom only gets about $20-$30 or less per box.

Whatever it is, these sorts of things are usually sold to retailers on a "sale or return" basis. Any unsold stock is returned, just like the publishing industry.

I don't think this is the case. What they didn't anticipate was how quickly their players would find out how badly they had been stitched up. There are many posts on forums (not just this one) expressing their displeasure about later levels and content.

I think Funcom was taken by surprise in a number of ways. They didn't anticipate how quickly players would level and find an empty game, they didn't anticipate their customers anger and willingness to cancel after VERY short time periods (2 weeks or less in some cases). They really did think people would swallow what Funcom was feeding them, thus giving them time to produce content and fixes that were needed.

It doesn't matter what your business is though, customer service/support should be paramount in your thoughts. Funcom could have the best game ever, but if their customer service sucks people will complain on the internet forums. Its unavoidable in this day, when 2 mins of typing can reach millions of (potential) Funcom customers.

      General Discussion
    • Has anyone heard from support?
    • You won't hear back about mounts/codes anyway. Funcom did a forum thing saying you need to sort it out with your retailer, Play.com in my case, which means tough. No codes, no mount, and no satisfaction.
