ok, when i talk about "equal" i talk about health, damage and so on. If a noob put his sword in the veterans head, the veteran is dead. It doesnt matter how many dragons you killed, a sword is a sword.
And why wouldent that fit into a MMORPG?? Does it have to be levels in a MMORPG?? NO. It doesnt. MMORPG is about "living (playing)" in a gameworld, nothing to do to "power" up a character. Thats for single player games.
Sorry for misunderstanding ACs system, i didnt know that.
First, you cannot equate real life situations with fantasy games. It just does not translate well especially for MMOs. Your example is also flawed since the veteran would have better training, more then likely better equipment, and better mental state. The new guy would be holding his sword wrong, pissing his pants, and wondering why he has no armor. If you bring equality across the board then there is no individuality and the game will tank hard.
Second, with that kind of equality numbers will count far greater then skill expecially since AOE and mass attacks will have friendly fire. That just makes my point even more valid about eastern asian clans. They will swarm in numbers you can't even understand. They will wipe the map clean and then beat you down some more. Seriously look up the history of shadowbane. The ARAC guilds literally drove players off servers from the incessant zerging. I love full PvP, I fought against them and I lost. The reason was because they do not stop ever. You can win repeatedly and they do no submit, they just seem to come with more numbers. They a relentless and the game stops being fun anymore. This could very well happen in DF especially if the servers are in a neutral area like Greece where neither side has a latency advantage.
Be careful what you wish for, often it is not what you thought it would be and you are worse off for it.
Haven't really followed DF very much but this post caught my attention...
I was there in SB from day one and atziluth pretty much sums up what happened when the asian guilds entered the game. Full PvP/full loot sounds like a good idea, but beleive me, the actual experience ain't pretty... ![]()

Hi there,
Yes I know all this and I see your point completely.....my thinking now is that someone can do something about the actual game elements now to create a more working and polished MMORPG. I mean, the graphics (terrain/environment) are a strong point, they would certainly not be outdated by an means if someone was to pick up this game, bring it under their wing and carry it to a working product.
I for one would play this game. One must still look beyond the grey fog to see the light that this game, if worked on, can be revived.
The questions lies would someone want to?
Hello, did you read the previous post? The amazing terrain has nothing to do with the criminal devs of this POS. The guy responsible has taken them to court over the use of his technology in their "game". No investor would touch this train wreck with a 10 foot pole.... ![]()
No apparent reason you say....
Not our fault you didn't do a bit of research on the history or the way the devs treated the community/costumers of this fiasco. ![]()
