I made a dwarf engineer. The character creation had me worried (character creation graphics were pretty horrible) but after playing the actual game for a bit I'm very impressed.
Fluid animation (bouncing, movement), great graphics (better than WoW by a bit, but also very similar in style), and a well designed UI (best base UI I've used in a MMO so far).
This one is looking like a keeper.
You had to be one of the first 50,000 to register the pre-order (Standard edition) or have been in closed beta, or received a Collectors Edition pre-order key.
There was some information on the Warhammer Online website if I remeber correctly.
I had to spam all the server buttons just to log in to one. Took me about five minutes but I finally got in.
I also bought the Age of Conan Collectors Edition. I've thought more than a few times that the AoC CE lacks player value and substance. I also thought the same thing when I bought the WoW CE. Although the WoW CE at least came with a unique non-combat pet, as well as a equally huge box with an equally unimpressive art book similar to AoC. ![]()
It would have been nice if the AoC CE came with a unique mount like the pre-order did or even some form of a buff pet like demonologist tote around.
I'll continue my subscription to Age of Conan until I get bored (as I do with most MMORPG's) and revisit as substantial expansions and updates are released.
I imagine a 2 to 4 month subscription time for AoC. After which I will cancel if nothing further compels me to continue a subscription and then a revisit every 6 months to a year thereafter.
