World of Warcraft is what it is and I don't think it'll change much.
You got it...it is what it is.

Not much has changed. I think they relized that they are going to have to cut their loses and just let it roll. Still has a decent population that will keep some money coming in. But lets face it, they are not going to be competiting with WAR, WoW, and AoC anytime soon.
Well it's still on Wal-Mart shelves so if that means anything.

Sorry to rain on your parade, but i would guess that the increase in Vanguard numbers has to do with the fact that Sony has re-activated all old Vanguard accounts and given away 2 months of free play time.
I went and check Vanguard again, note Iam still playing Age of Conan but that Vanguards free subscription got me curios in a way did they really fix and add so much stuff or its just on desperate attempt to get more players... unfortunately its the latter.
So for the time being I will stick with AoC despite some bugs and missing content.
If Funcom is lucky by the time WAR is released they could have some polished game with more end game content.
Somehow I dont believe that WAR will be released this year, not because of Mythic but EU they are in red numbers this year as they spend lots on buying BioWare, Pandemic Studios.
Dont think they will wanna share shelfs with WoW's Lich King.
Good observation. It's all about the bucks in the long run.
What is your favourite Soldier archetype class in Age of Conan?
