We don't all agree it's bad. Some people justify it as "Well, I have to pirate, because I can't afford the game."
You know what? That's not a reason. "Oh, I would have paid for the food, but I didn't have any money, so I had to skip out on the check." Then why did you go to the restaurant? "Oh, I wouldn't have shoved that old woman out of the way, but I really needed to be first." It's all lies we tell ourselves to justify it to ourselves.
We pirate because we don't value the product enough to work for it.
I used to do it. I didn't have enough spare income to afford the games I wanted. So I'd find a torrent and go. And I was *stealing* the game. And you know how many of those games I finished? Maybe 2. Because I kept d/ling more, and not finishing them, and bitching about not having enough money to buy them.
Maybe I'm just grumpy and judgemental as I'm older, but while I despise what EA added, I can certainly understand it from a business perspective. When all your customers are saying "Well, I'd buy it, but, you know, everyone pirates it" then you have to figure out some way to prevent that. They just don't see that it's a losing proposition. I also see my friends whine that they don't have enough money for the game, so they'll just pirate it, then spend $50 on a night going out drinking, or turn down contract work that would pay them $500 because "Eh, it's not worth it to me." It's all about choices.
I too oppose open-mindedness.

Pretty much expected from a game like this, though....
What's MWO going to do for end game content, and longevity?
If people can bot up the levels, it's only a matter of time before people have maxed all classes (far less time than a traditional MMO). What then? What keeps people from getting there, getting bored, and moving on?
That's an honest question - those of you with experience with the game - have they addressed that? Is there something to deal with it? Is the answer "PvP and RvR"? Or is there more to it?
