Last Chaos is okay. It's a very good free to play but I wouldn't actually pay for it. I think if you're looking for your first MMO then this would be a go place to start.
The community is fine. You just got to get to know the people. Lower levels almost never talk, unless they want to be in your guild, and high levels are usally easy to get into conversation with, unless you continuously ask questions.
The only downlfall is the massive amounts of grinding, but that'll get you used to just about every other MMO out there.
