Yes, yes. I feel we know what he meant; he came to AoC knowing little of it and not being a fan or detractor.

unless you bought your computer less than a yr ago or upgraded it to the best, good luck running this game. besides the system requirements, they put wayyyyy to much graphics in it for it not even to look REAL. WoW may be 3-4 yrs old, but the graphics of the ground and surrounds are damn near the same, with 1/4th the requirements. i know many ppl may disagree, but get real, the ppl that do already have one of the best systems.
my system is a laptop- i know not for gaming but still
intel duo core t2600 2.16ghz
2gb ram
nvidia gforce 7400 256mb
running everything lowest it can go- below low settings!
and lags liek a mother ...
also xps with 256mb vid card and 3.2 ghz pentium 4 and 1gb ram
cant even see the game on this system
pisses me off that ya buy the best laptop availible a yr ago and the game runs like shit. maybe in a yr these requirements will be normal systems but its crazy
they wont get nearly the amount of wow subscribers with this system requirements liek this

And I think you defeated yourself "my system is a laptop- i know not for gaming but still"

Within politics and world views the population is basically divided between the people that expect Nirvana and anything that falls away fromthat state is seen as a failure regardless if the path toward that mythical state causes more harm that good - These are the spoiled MMO crowd lamenting how this game doesn't have everything they ever wanted in a pleasure and clean their room too!
The other group are the people that understand the world is flawed and that mankind is not perfect... nothing is perfect because nothing can be. They see the world as potential pain and suffering and they see man as striving away from that toward a better, not perfect, existance. No existance can ever suit everyone, so these people understand that individual pain/pleasure balance happens at the individual level. It is understood that the state of Nirvana is a fool's dream and can only exist in the nythical realm.
Individual expectations from these toys fall between those two camps.
I am suprized (not really) that so many of these kids are decrying that a game isn't perfect therefore they are running back to old outdated games that are even less perfect, simply because it is their safety zone. They have accepted the flaws in these old, outdated games and justify their failures through cognative disonance. They wrap themselves in their dirty, smelly MMO security blanket because it provides a familiar emotional safe zone that they know well.
Spot on.

I've been reading about retail purchase and buddy keys, timecards and such but I have not been able to confirm if the game has any monthly fees. Here are my questions.
Does it have any monthly fees or is it just a one-time purchase?
The buddy key, is it timed? does it have to be upgraded to a retail account or does it work like a regular retail key?
Thank you for your help answering my questions.

instanced dungeons is one thing, but instanced zones just isnt what an mmorpg should be about
I agree.. I think it splits the population too much.. ESPECIALLY if the max amount is only 48 for ONE instance.. wtf? Only 48 people at a time in any given zone at a time? So again that means trying to find the right instance with all your friends and somehow making it all work within the 48 restriction..
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, WILL YOU DREADFUL, SPITEFULL SHILLS stop spreading lies. Link the announcement or FAQ that confirms 48 player limit to any single zone!
