| Biography | *Crying* It's true it's all true. Why do I even play MMOs? They're like bad girl friends, they look really good and it's fun to begin with but then it all goes downhill. She gets boring, repetitive and you starts looking for a new girl friend... or in this case MMO. A never-ending circle that we are forced to repeat. But hang in there guys. Someday we will find that perfect MMO that we can settle down with- I'm sure of it. |

I am just going to give you the tried and true best advice for any game when it comes to nerf/buff threads.
Play the class and then you will understand.
Also pretty much every class has a detaunt, White Lions included. So unless you are getting killed by two witche elves at once, you should be just detaunting them and then dpsing them down. At that point they have 2 options, stop attack you and detaunt also, or try and dps you down still, which will most likely result in their death.
Witch Elves do rock if you enjoy their playstyle, which is basically all offense and very little defense. But they are incredible difficult to play. Most of your time in scenarios is just dropping a healer as fast as possible and then dying.
Although occasionally when you get a really unorganized and not class balanced order team you can tear a ton of people up. But it has alot to do with positioning. You have to go after people that the rest of the people arent going to notice.
My other advice is stop running around alone. In a team game it is best to stick with your team -.-
Misdirection is alot more valued by intelligent raid leaders than you think. Rogues now have a somewhat similar ability, but its nothing compared to how easy some fights can be made with a hunter misdirecting.
In my guild we usually try and bring at least 2 or 3 hunters (vs 1 or 2 locks and 2 mages), because they do amazing (and safe and foolproof) dps, virtually never pull threat, and misdirect simplifies so many difficult pulls. Also having a pet is another factor i dont think you include. Alot of bosses with a random target mechanic are made easier with a pet sometimes taking the blow. I know blizz has restricted alot of abilities from hitting a pet, but alot still exist.
well one this i think you need to take into account is that as you said the abilities are all jumbled around. Which i think matters more than you think.
My main is a 40 witch elf, and my counterpart, the witch hunter doesnt get abilities in nearly the same order.
Mainly the healing debuff. On my witch elf i got it at like level 8 i think. 45% outgoing healing reduction. And on a witch hunter you get it in the mid 30s. That is a huge gameplay difference that i really do not understand. It makes witchelves hundreds times more deadly vs a healer than a witch hunter in more than half of the game.
There are many other examples of setups like this. Like engineer vs magus, a magus is pretty weak pretty much through the entire game when compared to an engineer just because of the order and flavor of their abilties.
Most people are commenting on the game they are playing right now, which is probably tier 1 or 2 for alot of people. I know mythic has balanced the game more towards the higher tiers but people are still going to talk about the tier they are currently in. On my server there are a hundred or so 40s, but thousands of levels 1-20.
Also the population of the classes is a really huge factor. Chosen are probably the most popular class on Destruction and they are a tank, where on order I would say Bright Wizard or Shadow Warrior are closer to the most popular on the order side. Tanks REALLY sway the result of a battle, especially in scenarios like Nordenwatch where that one initial battle at the fort pretty much determines the winner of the scenario. Tanks do less damage but can actually be kept alive under concentrated fire from a small amount of healers.
I already said I played the guild beta. I havent played with the level 31 premades and I did not participate in the preview weekend. This post is based on my gameplay from the guild beta.
Also this post is only about my dislikes with the PvP system to counter the hype that this is a "PvP god" or RvR if you want to use that term. I really enjoyed the PvE, the group mechanics are really good for PvE and the public quests are alot of fun. In the 2nd area of the Chaos starting zone the public quest was amazing, challenging and just alot of fun overall.
Kind of funny that people try and defend the game by telling me to go back to world of warcraft, or saying I havent actually played the game.......
I think after I get to level 80 with my main and maybe mess around on a death knight for a little while i will give this game a try again. I am sure they will have most of their issues and flaws worked out and it will be alot of fun.
And if people dont complain about a game it will never get changed. It beats just randomly hyping and defending.
why is the PvP lacking?
I mean I can understand people want a change of pace from WoW or whatever game you are currently playing. But I am really tired of this hype.
I have been playing the Warhammer beta since the guild beta, on my Chaos Chosen for a pretty long time now. I tried alot of other classes and I really did not like the way they look or play, and I had to stick to the destruction side because that is what my guild chose.
So my Chosen is 28 now , and I think i have experienced enough pvp to give some good insight. And in all honesty its nothing you havent seen before...
This "RvR" thing that everyone keeps talking about closely resembles Alterac Valley in world of warcraft, it differs in very few ways, one of the only major ways being the location of the stuggle.
Aside from that, I played scenarios that felt like Arathi Basin and Eye of the Storm ALOT. This is the other form of PvP in Warhammer. And in my opinion scenarios = battlegrounds.
Each zone has its different RvR points and scenarios, but again it is nothing you havent seen before.
On to the actual combat. Sadly I feel it is lacking also. Success was almost 100% based on number of combatants. And the destruction side largely outnumbered the Order. It could possibly be my class choice, but I could rarely do enough damage to any single person to kill them myself, and while I am all for a team effort, it is very frustrating to not feel like you have a large impact on the battle you are in. After pvping in warhammer for a few days with my friends I really craved the more organized and exciting arena combat in World of Warcraft.
In Warhammer you just roamed around in a team and zerged down either smaller groups, or less organized groups of players. I can say that i was in very few fights that involved a small enough amount of people so that my personal player skill really won the battle for us. It is more about organization and, again, numbers of people. Playing with my 4 friends and being on ventrilo felt like cheating really. Alot of the PvP in this game feels like premade battleground gameplay in World of Warcraft. And i know how unpopular that was.......
The combat mechanics in this game are also alot slower than I thought they would be. I think they can be best compared to Lord of the Rings online. I dont think there are any abilities that crowd control/fear/sleep other players in the game, which is also something I disliked alot.
I really wanted to love this game and have it take me somewhere besides the Azeroth that I am used to. But after all of this testing Wrath of the Lich King is really what i am looking forward to. I wrote this because I just hate seeing a game hyped up on every forum, and then after its released seeing everyone complaining about the exact same things.
