Have you tried the Live server Copy to Test Server yet? Got some PvP levels and purchased the cheap unique looking gear whilst experiencung portions of the new fugitive system? Or the test server has a couple dozen new quests to try too?

Coming soon on there will be the House of Crom level 80 content, Ymirs Pass content and Thunder River new content (both 50-60) Its a good place to be if you want the tangible before it goes out, plus you can see how things impact your character as it is and if you feel strongly enough help test it out and give feedback.

Some of it is there now, rest undeniably is on its way.

Yes if you want actual game content past lvl 20 please pay to play on the beta, errr test server.

Also the "concept art" is a nice touch. When you have to put that on display to show what is upcoming it shows how desperate the situation really is. My only question about AoC: how long can FC continue to promise without delivering before even the paid fanboi's stop taking the money and disappear, 4 months and counting...

Actually that quote I re-read over (from Gaute (Game Director) ) That last line on page 35 of it said "All in all the benefits by outweighed the negatives." So I got it wrong slightly but means the same.

FYI the concept art has been "out there" for a long time. Here: http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=110722 and http://alextornberg.com/art.html here for example not to mention the official website, oh for many months now. There is no desperation involved, your desperation to spread non factual accusations is the only desperate thing in this thread.

Why even time the time to post here if it disturbs you that much? just a question.. /shrug

Saying "the benefits are outweighed by the negatives" is the complete opposite of saying "the benefits by outweighed the negatives. Your "fix" doesn't even pass as English by the way.  I dont plan on buying the magazine so either you had a Freudian slip or the writer did. Either way your original post was by far more accurate.

As for your rebuttal on the concept art. Seriously it's been in the works for months and you see that as a GOOD thing? I guess the fix to complete lack of 40+ content has been in work for "months" also. Yes the game is coming along wonderfully based off of months of "work", without delivering anything of substance for almost 4 months now. Yeah, great rebuttal indeed.

Lastly, I post on this because I can, and because I enjoy it. From someone that gets paid I guess it is pretty hard for you to understand that.

The Mag also gives you an in game code for "The Bag of Holding" which is a 20 slot Bag - comes in handy!

When you apply it to your account will look something like this:

For those interested the contents of the Mag touch upon:

      • Developer Q&A
      • Throne Room
      • Epic Armor Sets (concept and render) Tier 3 for Thoth Amon's stronghold
      • House of Crom new massive dungeon mini guide
      • Travellers Guide
      • Article called my favourite things (many regular developers answer their favourite parts)

It's a pretty good read overall imo.

I'll quote some of the Q&A but not all as per rules here:

PCG: What prompted the decision to adopt an "instanced" approach for Age of Conan, where every zone, not just dungeons, is instanced? To adopt, in other words, a more Guild Wars approach than a WoW or EQ "overworld" scheme? Was is for server relief? Or just to let players try to avoid epic gankfests?

Gaute Godager: There were many reasons for this; after all, we were the first MMO company to introduce instancing (with Anarchy Online), and we have seen the many benefits instancing can have. It makes for less camping, more diversity, faster access to content and can even dynamically tailor the game to specific players when used right. As such it was not about server relief, but about how to make Conan as fun and accessible as possible. All in all the benefits are outweighed by the negatives.

PCG: How much were you able to rely on art or descriptions from existing Conan sources and how much did you have to come up with yourself?

Didrik Tollefsen (Art Director): There was always more than enough information in the books, and the Conan license owners [Paradox Entertainment] have always been there to answer any questions. In a lot od cases we have taken the liberty to build upon what was already described in lore, but always in good spirit of the brilliant author himself.

PCG: When AoC was developed, there was a lot of talk about its DirectX 10 graphics - starting years before DX10 even came out. The game shipped, though, with DX9 only. Not a huge problem, considering that most people don't have DX10-capable cards anyway. When was the decision made to ship the game without it? Was that choice made in the interests of getting the game on the shelves sooner, or was there another reason?

DT: The reason was quite simply quality, and that ever-looming amount of challenges you have when you make MMO games. We did work on DX10 almost all the way to launch, but simply weren't able to give it enough loving at the very end. We knew that most of our customers would have DX9 (for now), and when we had 2 weeks to go and the choice between keeping the two graphics engines going, or putting all resources on stablizing DX9 even further, the choice was simple. On the flip side it means we can show something even better now, and spend more time working on truly taking advantage of DX10.

Alex Tornberg: Concept Artist:  Right now I must say that the upcoming dungeon, House of Crom is turning out really nicely. All of us artists in the concept team spent a lot of time visualizing this dungeon, and its going to be massive. i just hope the end result is as good as we think it's going to be.

Well thats it really, there is plenty more interesting quotes inside the mag, just thought i'd share some relevant to the current topics on the game.

Oh and if your wondering what the T3 Epic Armor for Thoth-Amon's Stronghold will be looking like here is a glimpse:

    • Same old mistake
    • Personally I think Mythic has found a way to minimize the negative aspects of MMO economies. Case in point: Renown Ranks. The economy in WAR has little to do with money and a lot to do with RR's. You can have all the money in the world but if you do not have the RR then it is meaningless.

Game economies for the most part are such a small draw, and if it does anything it ruins a decent game, so I give Mythic a big thumbs up in finding a way to minimize the gold farmers, and attach gear advancement to RvR achievement.

      WAR (Warhammer Online)
    • I don't know what I'll enjoy more; Darkfall, or watching the nay-sayers eat their words whole.
    • Aventurine has done such a horrible job delivering on anything so far I guess I should not be surprised how people are reacting to a in game trailer. I know you rabid fanboi's go crazy when one of the Dev's takes a dump, but lets keep some perspective here.

The game has NO concrete release date, 2008 does not cut it, the game has NO beta, well I guess if you count BOTS as a beta then it does have one, my mistake. So I believe your claim to "victory" over the "trolls" based off a game trailer is a tad bit premature.
