Take a look at the PvP threads on the Wow site. People ar constantly complaining about the PvP. It's either balance issues, broken maps, no real world PvP, not enough BGs, overpowered items making classes and unskilled player invincible.
People complain about wow because thats what they do about every game once the newness wears off.
Im a wow player, on a pvp server. I tried WAR, and while I think its a decent game, it doesnt bring enough new elements to the table to warrant switching from wow. To me it feels like I'm playing a sluggish, wow wannabe, even though WAR does have some differences (classes and such).
I agree about the "newness" comment. People will probably be trashing WAR in 4-5 years as well. It's just how it goes.
Wrong... Mythics other game is still one of the best and it was made a few years before wow the reason people don't play it is the graphics are really dated and it was time for a new franchise. Please look at the fact before mouthing.
I'm not arguing with you. I'm just asserting that games get old, PERIOD. After a length of time the majority of people will tire unless it's constantly changing. Like I already said, I'm ALL about WAR. So don't treat me like a WoW fanboi and have some respect.
You are arguing very much so. Games done right wont get old. Wow was great and was fine until Blizzard messed it up. My point is Mythic won't do that based on past experiences. With WAR the world is dynamic in how it works... It is always changing.
I agreed with the OP. I'm leaving WoW for WAR. How is that arguing? We are both of the same viewpoint as far as that goes. IDK what your problem is, but you seem to want to attack everyone on this forum. You just need to relax and stop acting like Bill Clinton.

I have to say that I am one of the gamers that is very disappointed.
Art is subjective, but man, the game to me looks and feels like it was made for 8 year olds. I grew tired of it in 15 min much less can I imagine myself spending HOURS in this world. I understand that it's based on the Warhammer IP and this predates WOW by 20 years but I still don't like it. The art, in a word, sucks.
The movement is VERY clunky and annoying. It's terrible.
The character customization is a flat out JOKE. Not to mention the class choices left me unsatisfied. I found that there was not ONE SINGLE CLASS that I wanted to play.
The way the zones are set up is especially uninspiring. Not only are they smallish, but there is only a tiny portion of it set aside for RvR. I just don't like the design as it feels like an afterthought; and it was, according to the developers (originally they planned to have instanced "scenario" battles only).
Oh, and no player housing? No thanks.
In fact, I'm kinda pissed I bought into the hype. Paul Barnett is a great personality and he hyped this game to the max. But it's just not fun to play.
My 2 cents.

I'm thinking of getting the game for me and my wife. We played EQ, DAOC, and WOW and Vangaurd together but quit after our son hit the terrible threes and VG turned out less than fun. I'm looking at WAR for a new game to try and had a few questions?
- Can a duo casually game in WAR?
- We are thinking Dark Elf or Chaos, what are some nice two person combos for leveling from each?
- Is standard PVE at least as good as WOW? I'm excitied about RvR but would like a little lore and questing as well.
- Anyone have any luck running the game on a 7800GT card? We both have this card with a 2.4 Processor.
Thanks in advance,
1. Yes me and my Fiancee play together.
2. We play order so I am unsure usually a tank/healer or a DPS/healer combo is best though.
3. The PvE and lore involved int he game is much better then most other MMOs.... Wows quests don't do anythign to add or expand the story but the ones in WAR do.
4. You should however be aware it doe suse quite a bit of ram for best performance.

I only played for about 2 hours~ last night but a lot of that was getting used to the game. My initial impression is that its very similar to WoW, more than any other MMORPG i've played thus far.
What worries me is i've read the classes aren't as unique as WoW's, and classes aren't very personably reactive like in WoW's. I've always been more of a fan of the possibilities of being good/better at your class than others through skill, reactions, etc. than reliance on focus firing tactics or having a healer behind you. I don't multi box, and i don't play with the same people everyday, i play these games pretty casually, so its more difficult for me to bring support with me everywhere i go, unless i meet people ingame for that, or things just naturally occur that way in the RvR.
My mind is very open to Warhammer still though. I want it to be a very good game, i hope it is, but reading some of the reactions really scares me because they seem to be the core things i look for in a good game.
Ignore idiot that spread crap like that. The game is great play it and judge it for yourself. The class choice are more diverse and varying then any other MMO I have played. Wows are generic. RvR is balanced yet fun the way it should be it takes real skill not just an over powered class.
What aspect of MMORPG's are you more into?
