| Biography | I fell in love with fantasy and SCI-Fi early on in life and have been looking for ways to escape reality ever since. |

I was a huge everquest fan, so huge in fact that I bought my play time by the year.
I built my current computer (which I just now am having updated) to double the original posted requirements of EQ2 years before it was actually released.
And it could be the greatest game of all time, built and designed by the MMO gods themselves, but now I can never play it because it is a sony game. And I would always be too worried that sometime the designers would come along and waste the game that I had spent so much time in. I can no longer play games by SOE without feeling a constant sense of dread mixed with (ironically) lack of caring and commitment.
And I liked playing it.

That is the number of SWG:NGE defenders I have seen on these forums. And Obraik seems to be the only one that is in anyway believable or honest. The other four have to be joking. It has to be a huge joke. Kind of like going to a classic rock forum and posting "honest" opinions about liking Genisis better after Peter Gabrial left. . . Seriously, they have to be joking. I cannot fathom. . . whatever.
If the players of SWG:NGE cannot find a better (in every concieveable way) game I am actually saddened; I am almost willing to pay for them to play something else just so they can see by comparison the atrocity that is SWG:NGE.
Seriously they have to be joking, and how possibly do they expect anyone with an ounce of intergrity or intelligence to take them seriously. Its embarassing for them, it must be. It would be like being a musician and admitting that you like(d) Milli Vanilli not only for their musical prowess but for their performance integrity.
Its no longer about what the game used to be. . .but what it is. If it were brand new, and un-sullied by bad blood, and I bought it today and installed I would probably have it un-installed in a week. Maybe three days. The people who play it now are the same type of people that do not listen to music because everyone else listens to it regardless of the quality of music, but just becasue they do not want to seem like they "fit-in". They are the reverse curve people; just as bad, no, arguably worse than normal followers.
No props. . . no props at all.

Self regulated responsibility is why we as consumers always have the power. The retail and corporate world has gone to great lengths to make the consumers forget this. Our power is in our commitment to demand for ourselves what we desire and expect in return for our money.
In my humble opinion, for this example, anyone who still plays SWG:NGE and enjoyed the Pre-CU, and complained about the sweeping game features, or understood the willful and admitted deceit in which they were implemented is frankly a weak-willed pansy soulless pushover that takes that kind of crap in the R/L, who deserves no respect from the gaming industry. And it is these Sallies that will eventually let everything in their lives be comprimised to ruin, it just so happens that a minute aspect of their lives, On-line gaming matches up with mine, and as such affects me, albeit in a very (over-all) tiny way.
But they are just games, hobbies. . . .which is why I haven't jumped off of a bridge, or let it ruin my life in anyway. But what is not a game is the way people in this situation let themselves get treated. I would not let anyone treat me that way in any circumstance even in my hobbies.
So with that being said, the only way to get basic human and consumer respect from the developers and the gaming industry is to constantly vote with our money. For example, and concerning SOE, for years they made smaller changes to all of their games, but all changes that I could live with, and as such continued to play, or at least try their games. But, after what they did with the NGE I willed to never knowingly give them another bit of my money. Ever. I don't play EQ, I did, I don't play EQ2, I did, I do not play SWG, I did, I did not try PotBS, and I am not going to try The Agency. I don't even care what I'm missing, or if they're the best games ever, because they are just games, and I can find something else to do. But my earned money which is a tangible symbol of my sold time is not a game, and I will not treat it as such.
I haven't even bought a PS3 or any other Sony products since then.
Bottom line: if you do not like the way you are being treated then stop letting yourself be treated that way. Then you will not have to fear the future and the treatment of you in it. Especially involving unimportant stuff like gaming.
So it goes. . .

Was looking foward to this game when I first read about it during its development. But then they chose some strange bed partners, and I made a commitment to never ever play a sullied game again.
So in a completely selfish way, I am glad it is doing poorly, because at least I know am not missing out on much, I couldn't play it if it had become the best game ever, so good in fact that it shut all others down. In that event, I would have had to have stopped gaming all together.
So it goes. . .
