• • The NGE Countdown Challenge!

  • I'm one of those SWG players that likes to peak in every few months.  I play for about 2 weeks then move back to whatever game or real life activity I was doing before.

    Since the day CU was implemented I have watched the numbers of players drop phenominally.  Every time I log back into the game the numbers there were there previously have dropped by at least %10.  This is over a couple of years.  You see, Ahazi was one of the more active servers years ago.  Now, its quite literally a ghost server.  Thinking about asking TAPS to do an episode of Ghost Hunters in Star Wars Galaxies.

    Even when you get those curious numbers that show up with each major update; they eventually leave again after a couple of weeks, if that.

    A majority of the servers will be vacant.  SOE is well aware of this fact.  Why do you think they run this game with a skeleton crew?  Why hire a huge staff?  They know this game is a wreck and no matter how many times they try to fix it they will keep loosing more and more subscriptions.

    Originally the game could handle loosing one or two players here and there.  Not now, not when a large % of each individual subscriber makes up a large portion of the games population with their half dozen accounts.

    The games end is coming and no matter how well they or anyone else sugar coats it; you can't hide the truth.  Just look at the statistics.  Its a virtual countdown to 0.

    When the game started out in 2003 till CU, it was an alright game, simply because it was a big fat sand box.  You could do any profession and fit right into the networks and communities in the game.  Now...its just a sickening mess of people desperatly clawing for some type of entertainment.

    What SOE needs to do is refund the fees of all the current subscribers and send out an apology by mail to everyone who subscribed and shut it down.  Be done with this joke once and for all.  The fact that they keep whipping this dead horse just adds to the anxiety and frustration of anyone who played or is playing the game.

• • Stupid Is Stupid Does?

  • I read a lot of the posts on these forums for various games.  I like to read the postitive and negative feedback on titles that are out and ones coming soon.  It's almost impossible to not notice the amount of useless flaming I see.  Its nothing new; I've seen flaming in forums for ages.  Only problem I see is that its more consistent now days.

    Not everyone has the same interests.  Something a lot of people on these forums fail to understand.  They think if you enjoy something they do not like, you are total moron.  The flaming I see in forums like on this site really annoys the hell out of me.

    Not everyone likes the same flavor of ice cream.  I don't see kids standing around outside Dairy Queen waiting to bash someone's face in for picking the wrong flavor.  So why do people allow it to happen on here?  I guess the reason people think its okay to talk trash to others via the web is because they won't have to worry about getting stabbed by some crazy person.

    Its nice to see how degraded the practice of embedding morals in the youth has gotten.  Just last week I read a story about some local teenagers who dug up the skull of an infant and smoked pot out of it.  I know there is a saying for stupidity like this; but, whats making it worse is when other kids laugh about it.  A week later they'll go out and try the same thing.   Not because they want to rebel or make a statement; but, because they are just that stupid.

    I could name a hundred reasons why parents and society have failed the youth; but, who would I be kidding?  It wouldn't make much of a difference.  Just felt like getting something out of my hair.

  • I usually play through a game before I give it a judgment.  Its hard to generalize a game just from playing it a few weeks.  I'll check out the sites you linked.

    I bought the platinum edition with EN expansion.  Seemed like a good deal to me.  Anyhoo, eatin lunch and installing it now.

  • Hi, just wanted to mention from reading posts on here and checking out the actual website I decided to give the game a run.  Got a new beast of a system being delivered here next week and have AoC on pre-order; but, I am a gamer who likes diversity, so I tend to bounce between games a lot.

    Looking forward to trying it out.  I'll post later on what I think about it.
