    • Pre-cu SWG pvp, what was it like?
    • To me, it was at its best before:

      •  Jedi appeared - As a master commando (especially after the heavy weapons upgrades...Flame Throwers, Acid Rifles, Lightning Cannons)/master TKM, the only class combo I hesitated to attack was a master BH/master CH.  Everyone stood a chance and not very many people were afraid to fight.  Also, before the bobo jedi activation technique was known, people played the professions they wanted to play, not what the holocron told them
      • Combat buffs really took off -  Why bother with these.  The buffs took away so much spur of the moment PvP.  No longer could Iog in and just go kill rebels, I had to get buffed.   It should have stopped at high quality stim packs.
      • Mounts/JTLS - A hundred people waiting for the shuttle.  Man, that was just a fight waiting to happen.
      • High resist composite armour.  Everyone looked exactly the same running around in this crap. The first time I saw a jedi in full composite, I knew my time was up.  (this is more a personal pet peeve)

I guess my outlook is skewed. Lately I prefer FPS pvp.  Just log in and start fightin.

Edit: oh, and I also miss my imperial buddies running down to Anchorhead to say hello with 3 AT-STs a piece in tow.

And remember for the first couple of days where there was an imperial mission bug and everyone was running around in Stormtrooper armour? I played a Zabrak and I remember how much the non-human in the empire penalty used to bug me.

    • No Mention of Project V13?
    • Isn't anyone intrigued by Interplay tossing their hat into the MMO arena?

http://www.interplay.com/ (Notice the V13 at the top right hand corner...not much yet, but it is a start)

fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Project_V13_FAQ (Some speculation...check interplay's forums for even more speculation)

      Some curiosities:

      • V13 - Vault 13 was the vault from the first Fallout
      • www.interplay.com/about/article.php - Interplay hires (back) another original Fallout designer and sticks him on the V13 project.  That makes at least two of the orignal designers now on the project. "Taylor joins other original Fallout team members on staff at Interplay’s internal game studio.."
      • Interplay licensed the rights to make a Fallout MMO from Bethesda last year sometimes.  Their two year time limit to begin development runs out in about a year.  Now is the perfect time for them to start.  As a side note, the license agreement also stipulates that the game has to be released by 2012.

This could be one of the most anticipated MMO's in a very long time.   I'm not a Bethesda/Fallout 3 basher by any means.  I already have my copy preordered.  But the thought of some of the original folks building an MMO in the Fallout universe just makes me a little giddy.

Sorry if this has been posted about before, but I haven't seen it yet.

The stages are as long as you want them to be.  You don't ever have to evolve to the next stage if you don't want.  I plan on spending a large amount of time in all of them trying to figure out most of the accomplishments.

That being said, it will be very difficult for me to stay away from the space stage for too long.  The thought of tinkering with the space ship editor is driving me crazy.

    • Tired of Item malls yet?

I sure hope that was sarcasm. Your success in an MMO is extremly dependend on your real life. If you work 10 hours a day and have other stuff to do you will not have any time to play an MMO which leaves you with a weak character (time invested = strength of char). Yet if someone still goes to school or is unemployed, he will be able to play nearly 24/7 resulting in a powerful character. It is only fair to give those who have to work in RL a different way to keep up with everyone else.

Yes, your success in an MMO is partly influenced by the free time you have, but that isn't what I'm talking about. I am talking about money. Your success in an MMO should not be influenced at all by your income income or education in the real world. That is the whole point of playing an MMORPG, you escape the real world and are placed in a virtual world where everyone is equal, and has equal opportunity to do and be anything. Real world income should not affect in game success. Ever.

Rather you want to see it or not, his point is perfectly valid.  The real world affects the game world in all types of ways.  Time, money, friends/relationships, etc.  So why should income be left out of the loop?

I don't think your success in an MMO should be influenced by the amount of free time you have, or the amount of real life friends you have, but yeah, they all contribute.  It's just the way it is.

NO ONE is equal in an MMO after the alpha/beta invites go out.
